Firstly, get the emulator from http://syzs.qq.com/en/ , and also get the .apk file of the app you want to install (in this case, I'm using the gfx tool).
Follow the instructions and set it up.
After setting it up, there should be a window with the list of installed games. Go to the top right corner and press the ≡ button. Click settings. Click the drop down list that says "English" and change it to Chinese.
Right click the Tencent Gaming Buddy icon on the taskbar and click quit.
Now, open it again.
You should be in the "My Games" tab. If you aren't, click the 我的游戏 button on the left (the one with the game controller).
On the top right, you should see the "+ 本地安装" button (It means local install). Click it and select the apk file you downloaded earlier. It should install. If a pop up appears, just click the middle button to install.
If you prefer the English UI, you can just go to the settings again and switch it back.
If you want to get the Chinese versions of pubg mobile too, just click on the 游戏中心 (game center) button, then type 绝地求生 刺激战场 for the lightspeed version, or 绝地求生 全军出击 for the timi version. Click the biggest and most obvious button to install.
Keep in mind that the players who are playing PUBG Mobile and people playing on Tencent Gaming Buddy will only be paired with each other, much like Fortnite on the Nintendo Switch if no cross platform players are in your party.
The game has 3 visual options:
- SD 720p (Runs on 8600 GT/9600 GT/HD 2600/HD 3600 and comparable, DX10)
- HD 1080p (This requires a GTX 660 or better)
- Ultra HD 2K (This requires a GTX 1060 or better)
The fact that an 8600 GT is listed for 720p is quite astonishing, and this can be a great game to play during your lunch break if you don’t have a phone powerful enough to run the game!
Tencent Gaming Buddy PC System Requirements:
Here are the official system specs:
- CPU: Dual core from Intel or AMD at 1.8 GHz.
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 8600/9600GT, ATI/AMD Radeon HD2600/3600.
- Memory: at least 3GB of RAM
- OS: Windows 10, 8.1, 8 and 7
- DirectX: Version 9.0c
- Storage: 1GB of free storage
You can also get the game to run at 60 FPS using a tool called GFX Tool, we will do a guide on this in the near future!
While PUBG might not be doing so well competing against Fortnite, it seems that Tencent has taken some incentive to at least do something for the game.
Good Work, I really appreciate your effort. Keep it up, Bro!
